Hello everyone, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
It's hard to believe that in only a few days, we will be on a plane headed for Honduras! These past few months seen to have just flown by as we prepared ourselves to embark on this adventure. If feel like only a couple weeks ago we found out who was on our team and where we were going.
We leave Canada on January 4th, flying from Calgary. In Calgary, we'll be meeting up with Pauline and Barry Mensch, who will be flying down to Honduras and staying with us there. Then it's off to Houston Texas. There we'll have about an 11 hour layover... good thing we booked a hotel room! We leave the next morning, our destination: San Pedro, Honduras! From there we'll make our way to La Ceiba, on the coast of the Caribbean Sea. That is where we'll be staying while we are in Honduras. We head back to Canada on the 26th, with another layover in Houston. We land in Calgary at 9:25 on January 26th.
Now, you may be wondering what it is that we'll be doing there. Well Jeff and Monica Carlson, our contacts in Honduras, have told us that we will be involved in building a house, painting the school there and getting it ready for when their school year starts, a VBS, and distributing food. I'm very excited about this and can't wait to finally meet the Carlsons.
Well, we've done our 3 months of planning, gone through our final class of mission preparation.... now there is nothing left to do but pack and pray :) Thank you all for you prayers and support, they are much appreciated! As we do the last few things to get ready to leave, please pray that our travels go smoothly, for the health of the team and that God would prepare our hearts to go serve the people of Honduras.
Thanks once again for your prayers. We'll keep you updated on the many adventures we have in Honduras :) God Bless and Happy New Years!
